What are Cleansing Grains?
Cleansing Grains are a powdered cleanser made of assorted clays, herbs, plants, flowers, spices, fruits and essential oils. They are gentle, yet powerful, and are amazing and healing for all types of skin.
They are traditionally used on the face, but can be used on the body, hair, and as spot treatment as well.
Many commercial cleansers are extremely harsh for the skin with rough exfoliation, chemicals (even bleaching agents) and alkaline soaps. This can cause imbalance on the skin to the sebum biome (your bodies complex oil glands)...and we definitely want to keep the sebum happy.
Ready for a mini science lesson?
Our sebaceous glands (the little sebum factories) are powered through our hormone production and do so much for us! They reduce water loss from the body, protect the skin from infection by bacteria and fungi, and have their own set of bacteria (called the proprionibacterium) which may play a role in immune system regulation and keeping us healthy.
So to sum it up: Clays and herbs (Like in these cleansing grains) can help control the over production of the sebum without compromising the delicate balance of the biome layer.
Cleansing Grains are also a great way to get so many packed in nutrients on the face at one time! This ancient recipe serves as a soft gentle nutrient-packed cleanse for the face. Comes in two blends for different types of skin.
